Introduction from the Book
What you will find here is real. Maybe some of the circumstances and names involved are not quite true or have been adapted, but the essence of the teachings within is true.

If you take this book simply as a novel, good for you. But think: a book can easily be lost in the ocean of information that surrounds us, as a dream is lost in the immensity of the universe. If you have found your way to this particular book, perhaps it is because insome way you have wished for it.
For those of you who search for a place beyond imagination, where reality begins to mix with what many call fiction, you will find this volume a good fit. Do not impose limits or merely follow your first impressions. Open your mind; only this way can you open your vision to dreams, with which will come great surprises and the most satisfying moments of your life. Though you may think it impossible the world of dreams has always existed, and just as two neighboring countries eventually influence each other's culture, the lucid and astral lives have influenced each other since the beginning of time.
Bamso, the Art of Dreams can be read in many different ways. If you are excited about discovering what dreams actually are and how to begin controlling them, read this work carefully; in it, there are forms developed which will help you to find lucidity where others see only confusion and diffuse shadows. The simplicity of listening to a gentle song calms us with its tranquil sensations; I hope that what is written here will give you incentive enough to begin cultivating the Art of Dreams.
In the beginning, I had thought about writing this book in the form of a course. But that would have been almost impossible, as the delicate processes of mind and energy are not rigid or prescribed and, to get to their core, perhaps the least appropriate thing would be a bunch of rules and determined practices. Although I have not written this book in the traditional form of a class, you will find within it answers to several questions on what has been termed "Astral Projection," but which is more adequately described asthe awareness and control of consciousness.
We live in a world where religion, science, and reason have given their explanation to everything, and I have not meant to contradict those who with devotion follow a specific belief. Time teaches that it is impossible to express our deepest thoughts without offending those of someone. It has not been my intention to do this, neither with my ideas nor with this manuscript. Therefore if, before you have begun reading, you already have many prejudices of any kind, I recommend that you stop right here, close this book and return it, as there are some parts which you may find shocking and counter to your beliefs and traditions.

Those who are closest to me have recommended that I avoid some of these 'controversial' subjects, so I have done what I could without stepping away from the original idea that has moved me to write this. Beforehand, my most sincere thanks to them for their concern, caring, and patience in correcting my awful grammar, my terrible spelling, and my often indecipherable writing.
The road to the awareness and control of consciousness in dreams is the road by which we let go of our prejudices. If the mind is limited in conscious life, so will the unconscious life be limited--its capacities will be solely dedicated to making up for the chains imposed by daily life. If the mind, however, is liberated when awake, that same liberation will come immediately into dreams, as a rapid and inevitable consequence.
